Guard Card Acquisition
Get your Guard Card now! Whether you work for Praetorian, or ultimately, work for another licensed security company, you'll need your CA Guard Card. To obtain one, you must follow the following steps:
1. Attend and pass the Powers of Arrest/WMD/Terrorist Awareness class.
2. Submit your application to the BSIS.
3. Have your background checked through LiveScan fingerprinting service.
Once you have completed these steps, and the BSIS has issued you your Guard Card, you need to take another 16 hours of classes within 30 days, and another 16 hours within 6 months.
Praetorian Protective Services can provide all the education you need to obtain, maintain, and excel as a Security Guard.
Your training AFTER you receive your Guard Card is as or even more important that the initial training you received. The continuing education (CE) addresses the skillsets you will need during your day to day work and contact with the public.

The CE will help you to utilize actions and adopt a demeanor that represents your employer and the client in the best possible light.
NOTICE: The BSIS has begun to keep track of CE hours. It is essential that you comply.
How do I get this?
Praetorian USA suggests that you recieve your training online. There are also brick and mortar schools completely devoted to educating guards. You may also find them online.
To be hired as a security guard, you should bring your guard card and proof of continuing education with you when you interview.
